CSIR NET Life Science Exam Pattern 

CSIR NET Life science exam is of the total of 200 marks with a total time duration is of 3 hrs. and the questions are divided into 3 broad parts. 

Part ‘A’  

This part consists of 20 questions on General Science, Quantitative Reasoning & Analysis, and Research Aptitude. The candidates need to answer any 15 questions. Each question carries 2 marks. The total marks of this section are 30 out of 200. 

Part ‘B’ 

This part shall contain 50 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) covering the syllabus topics. A candidate needs to answer any 35 questions. Each question shall be of 2 marks. The total marks for this section are 70 out of 200. 

Part ‘C’ 

This part shall carry 75 questions that are designed to test a candidate’s knowledge of scientific concepts and/or application of the scientific concepts. The questions shall be of an analytical nature. A candidate is required to answer any 25 questions. Each question shall be of 4 marks. The total marks of this section shall be 100 out of 200. 

Note: There will be negative marking of 1/4th for each wrong answer.
